Anti-Habit
The project ‘Anti-Habit’ make me break the ice of my limitations.
What purpose of the project is making 100 outcomes
with various materials and various methods.
There is no topic and no limitations, we should choose only some words in our brain.
Then we had to make each page with them.
This is an interesting point that I do not draw as I have done always,
I do not use materials as I have used always.
Moreover, it leads me to challenge as a first project.
Artist Research (Gustav Klimt)
Gustav Klimt was seen as an artist who was far ahead of his time, and much of the work that was produced during the Austrian born artist's career, was seen as controversial. It was criticized due to the erotic and exotic nature. Although symbolism was used in his art forms, it was not at all subtle, and it went far beyond what the imagination during the time frame accepted. Although his work was not widely accepted during his time, some of the pieces that Gustav Klimt did create during his career, are today seen as some of the most important and influential pieces to come out of Austria.
Artist Research (Jennifer Strunge)
She has been sewing dolls, puppets, pillows and such ever since she was a wee little girl. During hersenior year at the Maryland Institute College of Art,shebeganmaking quilts covered with three-dimensional eyeball forms and giant soft-sculptural monsters made from found blankets, clothes and bedding. Shortly after graduating in 2004, she refinedhercreature making technique and began heroriginal Cotton Monster line. Ever since, she has been sewing as fast as herhands will allow, selling one-of-a-kind monsters, kitty cats, and more—locally, across the US and all around the globe.
Artist Research (Lubiana Himid)
One of the major concerns of the Black British Art Movement was placing the history of British art in the context of their race, and one way of challenging the racist present was by exploring the racist past. In the 80s, when she was working in London, Lubiana'spractice involved delicately arranged butoverwhelming assemblages of narrative fragments, rooted partly in her study of set design at university. This narrative she was building was a challenge to dominant old, white, ways of thinking about art and history.
Anti-Habit (development)
I tried to use the art supplement which is, but the result was not what I expected.

The next two pictures that I tried to make marbeling, but the black one was too dark, and the colour one is too light.
Anti-Habit (development)
I drew people around me,
but the line was quite rigid.
Therefore, I drew them again
with no looking.
Asaresult, the line was softer
and the shapewasalsointeresting.
Anti-Habit (development)
I have never used Photoshop
and Illustration before.
So, I practiced making the character
with only some simple shapes.

Evaluation
This is my favouritework I have done at the University of Arts London.
Try different ways from the materials and methods you used as a habit,
I could express a hundred of my part on each piece.
I also faced difficulties often, when I was doing the project.
However, I got peer feedbacks and opinions from friends,
and I could get ideas from my previous experience.
Anti-Habit helped me to get confidence and freshness in this university.
New consciousness
This project is making a campaign by communicating with various people and survey them.
At the First stage, Read 4 articles and chose one,
andthen select some words as a starting point to research.
After I make it specific, collect people’s thinking.
Then what I had to is deliver my topic with a poster or video.
I chose stickers and posters as a delivery method, and I also made a QR code for the campaign.
New consciousness (research)
I could not decide a specific topic for this project, even though I had a starting point of the article which is racism. Therefore, I drew mindmapfirst.

New consciousness (research)
I researched discrimination between poor and rich.
However, I thought it was a bit indefinite and not specific.
Therefore, I asked people what is deeply related to the gap between the rich and the poor. There were a lot of various answers, but I strongly agreed with the education part. To be more specific, I selected the difference between public and private schools.
New consciousness (research)
New consciousness (development)
why I have chosen QR code?
Nowadays, the QR code is a trend and comfortable to get information.
Even if people are not in campaign place,
they can confirm details everywhere.
New consciousness (development)
I could come up with stuff that is a fountain pen, ink, and clear paper for a rich environment.
On the other hand, old, torn paper, and frayed short pencil came to mind for a poor environment.
New consciousness (development)
Bay leaf usually used for school marks and certificates of award.
This leaf is closely related to school and is often used.
New consciousness (development)
I designed two different types of school uniform.
New consciousness (research)
Character design (development)
This is the first student character which is on the left side,
butIthoughtIneedtodevelopmore.
Therefore, I madeitsofter and sophisticated.
Cartoon (development)
What differences there are between private school and public school?
There is a good quality of facilities such as air-conditioning, heater and new desks in private schools.
In addition, private school give more opportunities.
For instance, an exchange student and sister school.
Moreover, the amount of scholarship has a big gap
between private and public.
Poster drawing (development)
I visualised this poster for the first time, but it was too static.
Therefore, I changedthe pose of the characters.
Also, school uniforms look like japans.
So, I redesign uniforms as well.
Poster drawing (development)
Finally, the poster has changed to this one.
The pose of characters seems to be freer.
Practice (development)
I did not know how to use an art brush and a clipping mask. However, I managed to do it.
Decisively, You tube and research led me to solve this problem.
I tried to make hair with the skills that I practiced.
The result was not satisfactory, because It did not seem to be hair.
However, the most important thing is I can use some simple skills from now on.
Progress (development)
I researched some illustrations from Pinterest that I usually liked, then I picked some works which have colours I found.
I referred to colours of some artworks.
Evaluation
When I got the brief of this project for the first time, I was so embarrassed,
because I just understand only half of all.
I was in the wrong way, even though I had enough tutorials.
Seeing the progress of peer’s helped me solved out what I had a problem.
I had not known that my opinion is notimportant in this project.
From then on, I asked all my friends about my topic, and finally, I could understand the project.
After that, I researched it and I chose a specific topic. I got a lot of difficulties,
but I could find the key from the people around me.
In addition, I managed to use programs that are photoshop, illustration.
If I understand the purpose of the work, I could do much better.
However, I can learn valuable things, even though there is a lot of trouble.
One Week One Place
This project had to finish for one week as pair work.
I Select one of the undergrounds, after that, I experience local shops, markets, local pubs, and sound around the station for promoting.
Weshould make a magazine with features that only the station has.
Thefinal outcomehas a total of 4 pieces of the zine, 2 of them have to be minimal concept and 2 of them have to be the lo-fi concept.
One Week One Place (research)
We visited the Aldgate station for the first time. However, there are not many things we could express.
Therefore, we moved to Shoreditch which is nearby Aldgate.
One Week One Place (research)
We could recognize that we arrived Shoreditch.
The reason why there were all different types of graffiti on the wall.
We went to LP shops, gallery, markets, and second-hand street,
but the strongest impression was a huge amount of graffiti.
Shoreditch Research (research)
Tomartacus
Historians believe that Shoreditch got its name from water that ran across the area’s marshland. It was originally known as Shoreditch or Sewer’s Ditch. A more romantic, though untrue, meaning connects Shoreditch with royalty. Some people like to believe that the area was named after Jane Shore, who was a mistress of Edward IV.
Artist Research (Banksy)
In the Street Art world and popular culture,as a whole Banksy is someone who needs no introduction, an artist, whose identity remains unknown, and whose works and status many adore and many loath, either way,you cut it no other Street Artist has been responsible for the rising popularity of Street Art in the last fifteen or so years.

One Week One Place (research)
Bruce McLean
McLean’s work is in a permanent state of movement and invention from the late 1960s his range of media has included painting, printmaking, sculpture, film, photography drawing and live work; in all of which humour, scepticism and wit are central. His work seeks to challenge the concept of ‘sculpture’ and indeed of ‘art’ by creating work that questions establishment thinking, materials and methods of display.

Evaluation
The most important thing is communication as it had to be paired in the project
’One week One place’.
The pair should give feedback to each other and share ideas.
Team projects always make me have more responsibilities.
It must be careful because of all the different workflows of people.
However, if they fill in their gap and if they learn from each other, it should be very helpful.
My pair can treat Adobe programs, it was a positive opportunity to see how to use that.
We enjoyed it, even though it was short project.
